Hudson’s: Detroit’s World Famous Department Store
Author/architect Bruce Allen Kopytek will share the story of Detroit’s iconic department store through his recently published coffee table book that highlights through words and images the story of the J.L. Hudson Company. Books will be available to purchase at the program.

Helping Women Period
Since its launch in 2015, Helping Women Period has provided more than 4 million products to menstruators in need throughout Michigan. Lysne Tait, co-founder and executive director of the organization, will raise our awareness of their work.

Connie Corrigan, longtime docent at the Detroit Institute of Arts, has shared programs with Northville Woman’s Club annually for about a decade. She will present to us a program from the DIA titled “To Die Upon a Kiss - The Look of Love”.
Frances Harper Inn: Detroit's First Black Women's Boarding House
The Frances Harper Inn was the first rooming house for Black women in Detroit. The Inn opened in 1915 and was operated by the Christian Industrial Club. Karren Yurgalite will discuss its importance in the history of Detroit and its recent placement on the National Register of Historic Places.
A Patch of Comfort: A Guide for Helping Someone in Grief
Marilyn Sullivan will raise our awareness of what is most helpful through the grieving process. The program is “A Patch of Comfort: A Guide for Someone in Grief”.
Northville...Your Community Within A Park
Derek Smith, director of Northville Parks and Recreation will give us an overview of the important work of Parks and Recreation from recreational programming to senior services to management of Northville’s parks. Smith also will discuss plans for Legacy Park, the 350-acre recreation area at the site of the former psychiatric hospital.
Standing Up & Stepping Forward: Tipping Point Theater at 17
TPT’s Producing Artistic Director Julia Glander will share this season’s offerings that explore the themes of “moving forward” and “what makes a family”. Glander is familiar to many TPT audiences from her numerous stage performances as well as her directing roles. Her role as Producing Artistic Director brings her full circle at Tipping Point.
Afterward we will celebrate the season with our Annual Holiday Tea & Sandwiches and have the chance to meet our new members as well as our 2023-24 Scholarship recipients.
